Back to the Streets! Rally Past Event Page Rally Against the Wars at Home and Abroad on April 9th (New York City) Update: Rally Details Hi...This goes out to all the passengers for the April 9 / NYC bus. The long range weather forecast for NYC suggests it may be cloudy, around 56 degrees, with a possible shower. You can bring what ever you think you might need in the way of clothing. If you have items or clothing you decide you don't want to carry, you can leave them on the bus. These items will be secure but they won't be accessible until we board the bus for the ride home. The bus is full. If there's any reason you're unable to go please let me know asap so we have time to reassign your seat to someone else. Send an email to Steve or call 691-0322. Thanks. There are large storage bays under the bus to hold signs and banners. Please note! There are restrictions on using wood stakes to hold signs (not allowed) . . . the NYC P.D. only allows the use of cardboard tubes to hold signs. There's a rest room on the bus. The bus will also make a couple of rest stops. On the return trip we'll pass the hat for a tip for the driver. The times listed on the schedule (below) are departure times so be at your boarding location well in advance. I've enjoyed communicating with all of you. It's heartening to be in the company of others who are willing to commit to this action and rise early, to travel to a distant place, to demand that their voices be heard . . . See you on the bus, Steve B Rally at Union Square (14th and Broadway) . . . at Noon. March leaves Union Square going south down densely packed shopping street of Broadway at about 2:30 to Foley Square. The march is under 2 miles and takes 30 min to under 1 hour, depending on pace. On the march, drums, cymbals, horns, whistles and our voices chanting are allowed. In NYC amplified sound is permitted only at the rallies.
